Television currently has a wide variety of car shows, but this does not mean that there are currently any good ones. BBC broadcast the show Top Gear, which is by far the most watched auto show in the world and they are currently trying to take the show to other counties. There is a fifth gear, but they tend to be too little information about cars to drive, and not very entertaining. Recently, the BBC has a section dealing with History Channel to broadcast the U.S. version of the show.
It is undoubtedly difficult for any host to live up to standards with BBC Top Gear hosts created, and I do not really expect anyone to ever be as good as a host Jeremy Clarkson. History Channel recently began airing on Top Gear America, which is partially hosted by the famous racing driver Tanner Foust. Foust has the potential to be very good for Top Gear host, and I think that when he starts getting comfortable being on camera was on May be one of the best. The first episode of Top Gear America pales in comparison to those produced by their English counterparts, but I expect the show to get better as time goes on.
If you truly gear head, but I guarantee that you will be at least mildly entertained Top Gear America, and highly recommend that you tune in. If you're a big fan of the original show then you can still tune in to reruns on BBC America. You May even want to check out the Australian version of the show as well if you have satellite.
